I'm heading down to Costa Rica tomorrow for our Marlin University session, and I can't wait to see a billfish. I'm hearing that they are getting 15 to 20 bites a day down in Los SueƱos, which is about 60 miles or so by water from where we fish in Guanamar, near Playa Samarra. Guanamar is a quiet little spot next to a gorgeous palm-lined beach that looks like it's straight out of Robinson Crusoe. Better yet, a series of rocky ledges and outcroppings just offshore holds quite a few marlin as well, making it one of the best places to pursue light-tackle billfish records.
