At the Boat Show: New Drag-Reading Technology
by Dave Ferrell

Aftco's new built-in drag scale allows any fisherman, expert or novice, to see exactly how much drag pressure they are applying during the battle. This allows you to test your line's limits and catch fish faster without fear of break offs.

ARDT -- Aftco Reel Drag Technology -- is incorporated in a uniquely-engineered seat butt assembly that functions much like a digital scale. The unit is positioned against the front of the reel seat and senses the forward pressure on the reel seat as line is pulled from the reel. The ARDT then converts those readings into an extremely accurate drag pressure.

The unit also works on spinning rod butts, so for the first time ever, an angler can tell exactly how much drag he has on his spinning reel! The housing is molded from a tough, glass-filled nylon and holds an easily readable digital readout of the actual drag coming off the reel. For more information visit www.Aftco.com.
