The capital of the state of Baja Sur (South Baja), La Paz is a charming continental city and the political and commercial center of the region. Fishing in La Paz can be good year-round, but when targeting billfish, the months of May through November must be considered peak season. Striped marlin can be caught as early as March but show up more consistently by May. Sailfish and blue marlin will typically show by June, with July through September considered "the season." An occasional black will appear in the baits, but as usual, they only serve as an incidental catch.
