    The capital of the state of Baja Sur (South Baja), La Paz is a charming continental city and the political and commercial center of the region. Fishing in La Paz can be good year-round, but when targeting billfish, the months of May through November must be considered peak season. Striped marlin can be caught as early as March but show up more consistently by May. Sailfish and blue marlin will typically show by June, with July through September considered "the season." An occasional black will appear in the baits, but as usual, they only serve as an incidental catch. Read More

    Let's see if I remember how to do this. With the passing of labor Day so passes our busy summer marlin season. And what a season it was! Every tournament this summer recorded record numbers of tag and releases including the HIBT which had one of the highest catch ratios ever in it's 42 year history. Plenty of big fish around too with 4 over the 1000lb mark being weighed so far and more 500lb plus than I can count. Another plus for this summer was the record number of tag and releases by the fleet on a daily basis. Read More

    LOA: Boats are listed according to Length-Over-All (LOA) first, then alphabetically by builder. We respect the true definition of LOA, meaning we include bow pulpits and swim platforms. So if you're surprised to see 31-footers with a 36-foot LOA, chances are good that it has a length-on-deck of 31 feet.BEAM: Beam gets measured at the widest part of the boat, which may or may not be amidships.
